Single mothers in the developing world are more at risk than others for enduring poverty, low life expectancy and health problems. Recognizing that single mothers need support to overcome these challenges, Clinicas Maya provides support through food, clothing, medical care and educational support. Not only does this provide much-needed assistance to women in an often untenable situation but it helps to break the cycle of poverty that can persist among the children of these mothers.
     Clinicas Maya also offers educational scholarships to orphans and children of single mothers. Our hope is that the kids will have enough education so they can have more opportunities for work and success. These scholarships include:
