Clinicas Maya provides training to the indigenous midwives in the area around Lake Atitlan. This training involves education on hygiene, life-saving intervention techniques, and other information to improve childbirth outcomes. We also offer Spanish literacy courses to the midwives so that they can access written resources and participate in continuing education. By reaching out to these women, Clinicas Maya is empowering them to improve the health for all women in the community.
